No Battle.net account, no certificate install, no hosts-file edits.
1Register
Create your account on the registration page:
an account name (3–16 characters) and a password (8–16 characters).
Remember both exactly. You log in with the account name, not an e-mail.
Wrath of the Lich King is enabled by default (level 80, Northrend,
Death Knights).
2Install the Ghosts Launcher (recommended)
The launcher downloads the complete WoW 3.3.5a client
(build 12340) straight from this server and verifies every file by sha256:
Download the launcher for your platform (a ±24 MB file) and run it.
Choose where to install the client — an existing client is detected and
pre-filled, or browse to any folder and click Download & install.
The launcher downloads the client and installs the HD graphics pack
automatically. Untick the HD box if you would rather keep the original look and
skip that download. Downloads resume where they stopped.
Press Play. The launcher writes the correct realmlist automatically, starts the
game, and drops you on the login screen.
Linux / macOS: install Wine first
(sudo apt install wine on Debian/Ubuntu, or
brew install --cask wine-stable on macOS). The launcher also self-updates
— when a new version ships it patches itself on the next start, so you only
download it once.
3Manual route (no launcher)
No 3.3.5a client yet? Download the complete client here:
s.go.ro/49gblo38
— if the page asks for a password, use the one published with this link.
Unpack it anywhere, follow the steps below, and let the Ghosts Launcher fill in anything
that is missing (the HD graphics pack and the server's client patch are unaffected).
Prefer to do it by hand? You need a 3.3.5a (build 12340) client; the launcher's
download-only mode fetches the identical verified files straight from this server, so a
manual install is never out of sync.
Install or copy a 3.3.5a (12340) client to any folder.
Open Data\enUS\realmlist.wtf (or enGB, deDE,
frFR — whichever language folder you have) and set:
set realmlist 212.28.185.14
Do the same for the realmlist.wtf in the main game folder.
Start Wow.exe, log in with your account name, and pick the realm
Ghosts WotLK.
If the realm list is empty or you get stuck at “Connecting”:
double-check both realmlist.wtf files, empty the Cache folder,
and make sure your firewall/router allows outgoing port 3724.
4First login checklist
The login screen's bottom-left corner must say 3.3.5a (12340). A Cataclysm
(4.3.4) or Mists client will be rejected — this realm is Wrath of the Lich King.
Log in with your account name and password.
Pick the realm Ghosts WotLK (Normal ruleset).
Create a character — every race can play every class, and Death Knights are
available immediately.
5What you get automatically
Heirlooms: 8-piece Ghosts sets scale from level 1 to 80 and are mailed to your
characters; each piece carries an XP bonus on top of the server rate.
All classes, all races — a Tauren Mage or an Undead Paladin is fine.
Death Knights without prerequisites — create one directly at level 55 in
Ebon Hold with the full starting kit.
Riding, including flying, is granted automatically — no mount trainer, no
gold.
Quest tracker: your active quests show on screen and on the minimap by
default.
See the patch notes for the full list of
recent changes.
6Troubleshooting
Stuck at “Connecting”: realmlist not applied (step 3) or your
firewall/router blocks outgoing port 3724.
Login info not valid: account not registered, or a typo in name/password.
Register at the registration page; change a lost password
via change password (needs the old one).
Wrong client version: the corner must read 3.3.5a (12340). Let the
launcher re-sync the files instead of mixing in clients from other expansions.
World server down / characters won't load: check the
status page — if World (8085) shows Offline, the realm is
restarting; give it a minute.
Quest objectives / tracker not showing in the UI: the Ghosts Objective Fix
addon now ships with the launcher and turns automatic quest tracking back on. If you
installed the client by hand, grab
GhostsObjectiveFix-1.0.1.zip, unpack it into
Interface\AddOns\ and restart the game; type /qtfix in game
for a report of what your client is doing. Two client-side things cause a blank tracker:
the Carbonite addon (which hides Blizzard's objectives frame) and the
autoQuestWatch setting being 0.
Launcher download stalls: close and re-open it — downloads resume from
where they stopped.
